Check out the wonderful work happening at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.otleaders.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OT Leaders and Legacy Society<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Membership in the Society is open to OTs who have demonstrated leadership in the profession in one or more areas.  Member experience ranges from 20 to 70 years!   Applications are required, and once selected, all members are expected to actively engage in and support the society\u2019s mission and activities.<\/p>\n<p>Some areas of engagement supported by the Society\u2019s members include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>OT History Preservation Project<\/li>\n<li>Recruitment and Honoring of OT Leaders<\/li>\n<li>OT Leaders and Legacy Foundation<\/li>\n<li>Social Justice<\/li>\n<li>Mentorship<\/li>\n<li>Society Visibility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even if membership isn\u2019t right for you now, the Society\u2019s History Preservation Project is worth checking out.  With the goal of preserving the personal stories of OT leaders, there are many fascinating interviews on a variety of topics. Personally, I enjoy listening to Margo Holms about her work on evidence based practices and Karen Jacobs for her approach to promoting OT.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to everyone leading this initiative &#8211; the profession of occupational therapy is only as strong as the OTs who actively engage in leadership and advocacy!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you a senior or mid-career OT with a passion for the profession?
