7th Annual OT24Vx – Making it Together

by Cheryl Hall on October 15th, 2016

ot24vxI love professional development and trainings – the connections, the inspiration, the sharing of knowledge. But it’s not always easy to fit an annual training into your schedule or budget. To meet this need and to promote the career development of OTs around the world, OT24Vx was launched 6 years ago.  OT24Vx is a free, yes free, virtual, 24-hour conference devoted to the professional development and education of OTs everywhere.

Mark your calendars now for October 27th starting Noon EDT or 16.00 UTC.  The conference program is up at http://ot4ot.com/ot24vx.html and full of inspiring choices including these on my “must see” list:

  • OT education in low vision rehab
  • There is no place like home: Using telehealth technology to support restorative care in the community for seniors
  • The Use of Quiet Books with People with Late Stage Dementia: A Case Study
  • OT Restore: Veterans Repair & Donate Wheelchairs to Their Community

Find out how to register today and make sure your computer is ready to go the day of OT24Vt using the conference prep tips.  Benefit from interaction with your peers by joining the “Unconference Space”.  This virtual spot is designed to facilitate networking and continue the dialogue inspired by the programming.  No worries if you can’t fit everything in on October 27, because content will be available for an entire year.

Congrats to a devoted group of OTs from around the world, who have worked tirelessly to put this conference together including Sarah Bodell, Susan Burwash, Anita Hamilton, Angela Hook, Karen Jacobs and Merrolee Penman!  I am looking forward to learning and being inspired.  Help the conference organizers get the buzz going now and throughout the conference, by Tweeting at #OT24Vx16 or #OTVx16.
