Best of AOTA Annual Conference – Part 3

by Cheryl Hall on August 26th, 2025

This is it – my final blog highlighting some of the great products and services showcased at AOTA Inspire at Philly.

This year, I came away with so many products and companies to share with you that I had to space them out.  My first post focused on resources for women, the second on resources for the OT professional, and this final post will focus on products for patients with limited hand strength or dexterity.

Totchop: I love a good rocker knife and Totchop makes one!  The founder created the product to assist kids when involved with meal prep and is now expanding to reach adults with limited dexterity or strength.  The product was born with a focus on safety and now supports an inclusive kitchen experience for everyone.  With a lifetime guarantee, safety edges on some products and great chopping board accessories; it is worth checking out the product line at Totchop

ReachAble Technology:  Their product, OmniCuff, lives up to their tagline “Elevating Everyday Independence”.   Developed for and by patients with grasping difficulties, the product was designed initially with a 3D printer with the goal of producing a more versatile Universal Cuff.  ReachAble’s current product selection includes three kits: Meal (fork, spoon, knife and cup); Technology (phone mount, pen holder, stylus holder) and General (universal connectors to use for the patient’s specific needs).  Learn more at ReachAble Technology

OrthoRPM Grip: My next pick is a Smart hand therapy device – the Grip. It is about time we replace the good old putty exercises with something more functional.  The Grip allow patient to build hand strength and dexterity at home and monitor progress with the patient app.  The healthcare team can also monitor progress remotely.  For more information, check out their website at OrthoRPM.

Safety Grip:  Hartmobility’s patented SafetyGrip technology is the star in their line of stability poles, grab bars, safety rails, exercise trapezes and bedside rails.  Designed to assist patients with weak or compromised grip strength, the unique surface, with deep grooves and raised surfaces, provides excellent friction and leverage for the user even in wet conditions.  ADA compliant and antimicrobial, the line supports improved mobility and independence.  See the all their products at Safety Grip

Thanks for following my series of AOTA Exhibit Hall blogs – I love sharing new creative and useful products for the patients we serve.
